Here’s an interesting single from Drags on Goodbye Boozy, a label I’m very quickly warming to. This lot are from Oakland and they play a kind of thunderous pop punk rinsed out in reverb. This gives quite a strangely spooky vibe to it which ends up falling somewhere between Deerhunter’s sun-bleached psychedelic indie rock and proper functional pop punk bands like The Marked Men or The Ergs. It’s a really strange combination but actually seems to work pretty well on this short but sweet two-song one-sider. I’m certainly curious to hear more. (ReviewBot3000 @ Norman Records)
